A very modern home.....

The reason I am writing at this hour in the morning is because I couldn't sleep and I ran into this very modern home and so i decided its so spectacular I had to share with all of you. I hope you enjoy the pictures of the following home, one so stunning, modern, and beautiful, it got me out of bed to write about it and share with all of you.

Please enjoy the following pictures...

Here the modern and cool house design ideas by Zack de Vito Architecture this Laidley Street Residence in San Francisco, architecturally speaking about this house: This new construction, single-family residence is spatially rational, expressive of materials and craft. A modern, eco-sensitive, urban retreat that is kid tough/kid friendly, but doesn’t compromise on design. A panelized framing system, built off-site, reduced waste and construction time. High fly ash concrete, engineered lumber, cellulose insulation, FSC certified woods and low VOC finishes were all employed. A photo voltaic system provides electricity and solar hot water panels reduce heating loads for radiant heat and domestic hot water.

Sailing the Indian River, Florida

Our Little Sailboat

Day Two Sailing from Daytona to Miami...

Our trip is not going as planned. We stayed up most the night putting all the items we brought from miami in the galley where we could not even sit due to all the items everywhere and it seemed that all the seats and every inch of available space was used.. Of course all of this was done in the famous stifling Florida heat and we discovered no nets for the windows or doorways meant Mosquitos.

After my super nice shower yesterday I quickly realized once I left the AC controlled bathrooms, I found myself in the reality once again of being in a non AC small boat with no window screens, or fans to even circulate. Then came our rescue, someone so true to their promise that they always find the right solution for your immediate needs and at the cheapest price. Of course we mean the world famous, and savior of man kind, the Super Center. While there we loaded up on LED lights, misters, 12 V operated fans - we bought 4 and they are clip on fans so we hung them in the room and galley. We also bought netting and placed it on the windows, doors, and sunroof, which allowed us to open all of them instantly cooling down our little ship. It was still hot but a tolerable heat, one in which I could fall asleep.

Taking the engine apart..

This morning I woke up and realized we had to fix the engine in order to leave. What seemed like an easy task this morning turned into a nightmare and it is now 3:00 in the afternoon and still we have not finished, setting us back at least one day with mosquito lagoon just waiting for what I am sure will be our late arrival and inevitable anchoring in its now famous waterway.

So again we are on our way to the showers, then wall-mart for another run, and then finally back to our little boat, one which I had hoped would be moving today back toward Miami, one whose engine would work, one who would be one day closer to bidding me farewell... Now instead we will sleep here again tonight and attempt once more tomorrow to get our little sailboat on the water and actually moving us closer to Miami and our ultimate destination for what will become a very modern, contemporary sailboat with a very colorful history.

I am actually just looking forward to our departing this marina and be that much closer to Miami, and AC, and no more ocean.. LOL...

Stay Tuned for more from our journey

REPORTING FROM CUBA...

A big hello from Cuba..

i am writting all of you from the beautiful island of cuba where I could not have imagined I would even have this level of access to write these blogs. I arrived yesterday on the island in Havanna, drove to Santa Clara where my family is from, and am today at a government run internet site posting this blog.. Simply amazing..

Its so hot in cuba and very few people know the existance of AC however for the most part `people seem very happy and honestly the island has unimaginable places that you cant possibly imagine unless you are here in person.

There are beautiful beaches, Island inland getaways with views only seen on this island, and then there are the millions of friendly people who greet you with open arms and are there around the corner to make sure your stay is as memeorable and enjoyable experience. Alrady I am having a great time here...

i am staying with my entire family in the city of Santa Clara at a hotel named after the city called Santa Clara Libre, ironically enough it means The Free City of Santa Clara. The city has got some of the better preserved building anywhere I have seen. Coming to Cuba is like time warping back in time as its many colonial buildings are still in place and intact, as if you had simply gone back in time. Very few modern, concrete buildings have been built that hamper the beautiful views and city scapes of thse great cities.

As soon as I can I wilol send some pictures to share with all of you on this city so you can see for yourself what beautiful views and infestructure it truly has..

Until tomorroew enjoy the rest of today.. and remember I have an entire webstore that has rtecently been completely updated and is ready for new customer.. Please check it out

Two Very Modern Homes...

I am writing today on extremely modern, futuristic style homes that I know you will love. Both homes are designed for impact on a reader with the style being not modern, contemporary, but futuristic and the outcome in both is absolutely amazing..

Modern House Renovation and Extension by Neil M

Modern House Renovation and Extension by Neil M

Here are the stunning modern house renovation and extension by Neil M. Denari Architects in Los Angeles, CA, USA. this house owner family have asked that 1,000 sf be added to the site in addition to the existing 1,000 sf house. The system leaves the house for half the rooms of his daughter and the other half includes newer extensions in front and back in a public area and a private bedroom for parents. This strategy corresponds to a new house, 16 feet wide, linear to be inserted into existing home. Multi-tones, bright colors accentuate the new pieces that suggest a graphic expression representative of the interests of the family.

From Solor energy at Mt Olympus, to living on the water, then simply amazing..

Three very different yet very stunning Homes..

I hope all of you enjoyed the Memorial Day Holiday.. I know I did.. I needed the time off and I simply let go and had a great time all weekend.. I even forgot to post my blogs yesterday which is very unlike me.. Miami was a madhouse as usual with Ebony week on Miami Beach and other smaller gatherings during the weekend. Ft Lauderdale had the annual White festivals, which is also attended by thousands and sees not only many visitors, but many tourist dollars come into the city during the weekend long event.

As I mentioned in my opening following is three examples of very different homes in very different settings, yet they are all stunning and great examples of modern, contemporary homes in very different parts of the world..

Enjoy the pictures..

Modern home in all its aspects, particularly when it comes to interior design.this house design by Christina Zerva Architects. this residence houses state of the art furniture and decorative elements which manage to captivate and astonish. the house consists of two cubic forms, a living and a sleeping area, connected by glass bridge. steel constructions form the skeleton of the object wrapped by prefabricated organic block that act as perfect insulation during warm summers and cold winters typical for this region. interactions of geometrical shapes, huge volumes and transparent surfaces that offer a great view. the floor-to-ceiling height in the main object is 7 meter, with the supporting structure that consists of a steel skeleton reinforced by diagonal element staying visible. photovoltaic solar panel hidden in the roof top provide sustainable electricity for any use. recycled and second hand material have been used for the building, the interior and the exterior is entirely illuminated with led modules, with low energy consumption. we chose steel because of its advantages over concrete. it is light and very strong. the transportation and site handling are easier. components are produced in factory conditions, ensuring accuracy and quality. the main advantage of steel is that it withstands unfavorable weather conditions as well as earthquakes.

fantastic river house design ideas in Australia

This the wonderful modern house design in Lane Cove River in in Sydney, Australia. this house magnificently designed both inside and out and fantastic curved walls of the interior along with the organic feel with it’s use of both timber and concrete. Outside the infinity pool, concrete cabana and the exquisite landscaping give it a resort style atmosphere. this house really modern and beautiful room interior with luxury living room interior decorating, modern kitchen design, and this house support the luxury and cool furniture. The air-space was therefore utilised to gain additional footprint space, and create a floating datum, effectively the Street Level Ground Floor plane. This datum was duplicated as a ‘lid’ over itself hence the two floating parallel floor plates, which proudly cantilever over the existing castle-esque sandstone basement walls. The First Floor shingle box remains largely recessive from the river side.
