More cool modern furniture...

More really hip
modern furniture..

I found the following pieces of furniture to be very trendy, hip, and a great accent to any of our modern homes.. We always try to come up with the most unique items for our homes that will stick out and well I am telling you here they are.. The following items are amazing

Enjoy the pictures...
I wish I could fit them all...

Oh. Em. Gee. We know it might sound like we reuse this phrase a lot, but we have sincerely never seen anything like the designs coming out of Jory Brigham Design. They are big and rounded and almost animated. They all just seem so dang happy! Corners are rounded, leg height exaggerated, materials mixing and matching. It’s all creating some pretty freaking cool pieces. This style might not fit in everyone’s tastes; in fact they have an almost child-like innocence to them that would actually look great in a kid’s room — but we bet plenty of grown-ups could find spots for these pieces.

Great designs with great color, and can you imagine how much more lively and fun they would make any room..

Liquid looking items..

Nuvist Architecture & Design is a firm out of Istanbul, Turkey creating some really stunning modern pieces. Sometimes we’re not always into really organic shapes because they feel a little contrived, but these all feel really genuine and honest. We love how the glossy material contrasts with the organic, fluid shapes, which seem to take their inspiration from water’s fluidity. We also love all the bright colors the pieces come in.

Stunning pieces.. I love the vibrant colors in high gloss.. These pieces say unique and special and I assure all of you anybody who has this in their home is known...

A great accent piece....

What a lovely little nugget of good design and practical function. Darin from urbancase just emailed me about one of their new pieces the sidebar: “designed by Darin Montgomery and Trey Jones for urbancase — the sidebar is the first in a series of collaborations with Teroforma known as Crafted.” We love how simple and stylish this piece is. A resplendent rectangular case on tapered legs, the handcrafted cabinet features a laterally sliding panel revealing adjacent compartments for liquor and glass storage. A drop-front drawer houses bar tools, and a pull-out drawer below stashes peripherals (napkins, stirrers, olive picks, cocktail recipes).”

“Offered in two variations. Walnut: solid walnut base, face and sides, with staggered dimensional surface; white Corian top. Liquor compartment interior features an allover incised diamond pattern repeated in the tool and storage drawer. The pattern, a reference to tuck and roll upholstery, nods to vintage luggage and handbags. Corian: White Corian cabinet showcases the diamond pattern on exterior face and sides, in the tradition of upholstered bar fronts. Interior compartments are walnut with no decoration

Absolutely stunning and would make a great addition to any room, dining, livingroom as a TV stand, bedroom, bar area.. Very Versatile design piece...

Day 4.. Heading back to Miami without the boat and back again

Sealed up tightly last night during the rain storm

Boat Issues one after another...

I am the first to admit I hate giving up and forced to quit but in this case there was no other option. After countless tries at repairing the engine and getting to sail nothing.. Besides some business we attended to to while here we have remained in the same port, at the same dock for the 4 days we have been gone..BOY what a giant .. I don't even want to say it.. There was no mosquito swamp, no Indian River, no everglades, not even the start of the engine or lifting or releasing (I am no Sailor) of the sails, no NOTHING.. Actuall there was a lot of heat and thunderstoms, and muggy nights... You know come to think about it, this really sucked...

Tonight before we left

Looking toward the sleeping quarters

Our little Fan friends from Wal-Mart

No in all honesty we worked hard to bring the ship around. We installed water tanks, carpet, fixed the sleeping chambers, built an engine from three other old ones that I felt were garbage but we managed to do it. Well Jessica Hale managed to do it.. You see she knows everything about boats and boat engines, and how to take them apart, put them back together and work miracles.. I have no clue what she did, how she managed, or for that matter why she insisted we wait.. But she is the Captain and what they say goes... She worked all day above and I cleaned up below and made sure the quarters became livable.. It took what seemed like hundreads of trips to Wal-Mart for supplies

I bought everything from [plastic bins, to cabinet organizers, to my best friend contact paper that works miracles when you need a quick non-permanent fix.. Bought spotlights, nightlights, and everything needed and the little boat now actually looks livable.

While Jessica worked I just sat below complained about the heat and played with Kiva or the 10 year Macaw who took an instant liking to me and insisted on sleeping with me every night.. Can you imagine what its like to be waken up by a huge screech of a bird because you leaned over to the side to much.. no matter I quickly learned to sleep on my back and her on my stomach.. no more issues or me thinking this killer bird was about to pluck my eyes out.. In all kidding aside she is the cutest bird you have ever seen, she lays on your belly and puts her head on your chest only to fall asleep between your arms or upper shoulder not moving a wisp throughout the night... She loves nuts and beries and will love you forever and be content to sit on your shoulders for as long as you will have her..

Getting back to the ship, we finished all major repairs with the exception of the engine and are headed back to Miami tonight to grab some things and return in the morning and maybe then sometime Thursday afternoon or Froiday morning we will finally be on our way to Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River Florida, for our exciting trek to Miami..imagine if all this has happened before we even left imagine what adventure and excitement awaits us as we cross into mosquito lagoon.. Maybe I won't come back from Miami and just.... Well stay tuned but I know I will be back as I have a date with Mosquito Lagoon...

Enjoy these pictures of Kiva, my new best friend a 10 Year old Macaw who is super intellegent and if your evef in a dark Marina at night like I was when Jessica went again to Wal-Mart to get supplies and hear a noise and all of the sudden hear Kiva say Hello, guess what, it scares the hell out of you.. I jumped higher then a kite jumping through the air.. Just a little some thing to make all of you laugh

Sailing the Indian River, Florida

Our Little Sailboat

Day Two Sailing from Daytona to Miami...

Our trip is not going as planned. We stayed up most the night putting all the items we brought from miami in the galley where we could not even sit due to all the items everywhere and it seemed that all the seats and every inch of available space was used.. Of course all of this was done in the famous stifling Florida heat and we discovered no nets for the windows or doorways meant Mosquitos.

After my super nice shower yesterday I quickly realized once I left the AC controlled bathrooms, I found myself in the reality once again of being in a non AC small boat with no window screens, or fans to even circulate. Then came our rescue, someone so true to their promise that they always find the right solution for your immediate needs and at the cheapest price. Of course we mean the world famous, and savior of man kind, the  Super Center. While there we loaded up on LED lights, misters, 12 V operated fans - we bought 4 and they are clip on fans so we hung them in the room and galley. We also bought netting and placed it on the windows, doors, and sunroof, which allowed us to open all of them instantly cooling down our little ship. It was still hot but a tolerable heat, one in which I could fall asleep.

Taking the engine apart..

This morning I woke up and realized we had to fix the engine in order to leave. What seemed like an easy task this morning turned into a nightmare and it is now 3:00 in the afternoon and still we have not finished, setting us back at least one day with mosquito lagoon just waiting for what I am sure will be our late arrival and inevitable anchoring in its now famous waterway.

So again we are on our way to the showers, then wall-mart for another run, and then finally back to our little boat, one which I had hoped would be moving today back toward Miami, one whose engine would work, one who would be one day closer to bidding me farewell... Now instead we will sleep here again tonight and attempt once more tomorrow to get our little sailboat on the water and actually moving us closer to Miami and our ultimate destination for what will become a very modern, contemporary sailboat with a very colorful history.

I am actually just looking forward to our departing this marina and be that much closer to Miami, and AC, and no more ocean.. LOL...

Stay Tuned for more from our journey
