The play reading of the musical was presented by WKU's Theater and Dance Department as part of The WKU Before Broadway Series in WKU's Russell Miller Theatre on Friday night, March 25, 2011.
MARCH 26, 2011--During a chilly Saturday afternoon, grandfather Ken Markin of Cape Girardeau, Mo., plays catch with his 7-year-old grandson, Josiah Markin, of Bowling Green, at Covington Woods Park. Ken Markin came down to Bowling Green just for the weekend to help out his daughter while she works and also to get some play time in with Josiah.

Western's Night At The Apollo is based off of the famous television show called "Showtime At The Apollo" that was filmed from the 1980s until 2008 that takes place at Harlem, New York's famous Apollo Theatre. There the audience members are known to either cheer on the performers or boo them off stage.
